Clifden boat club offer water sports and sandy beaches are only a short drive to Roundstone, Ballyconneely and Mannin beaches.The best swimming beaches are 8 miles.
Other nearby attractions include the beautiful gardens at Cashel Country House Hotel (10 mins walk) Kylemore Abbey and gardens, Dan O'Haras heritage park, or a day trip to the Island of Inishbofin. The Zetland Hotel which is only 5 minutes down the road, has a public bar which serves food until 9.30pm - recommended by past guests.
