Sunnybank house is a perfectly maintained ten-bedroom period property, which boasts grandeur and elegance and has a heated swimming pool, sauna dressing room, and tennis court. This property is one of the oldest buildings in the locality, was built by John Darcey, who founded Clifden town in 1823. The property was originally a residence in mid 1800s and then had several owners such as the Church of Ireland, then it was a RIC army officers retreat. After the Irish Civil War it was sold to the Sisters of Mercy who opened a girls finishing school the present owner then purchased it in 1977. Placed in the wonderfully manicured grounds is a 17th century anchor, which is believed to date back to the era of the Spanish Armada. It is to be noted this property was host to Chelsea Clinton on her Irish visit.
Inside this superb property there are two options:
Option one Ten bedroom will sleep twenty people nearly all with king or queen size beds. Ideal for family reunions, wedding gatherings, conference accommodation or simply two families.
Option two Six bedrooms with king, queen and double beds will sleep twelve people ideal for a luxury extended family holiday.
All bedrooms have T.V.s and ensuites.
