The cottage: This romantic and quaint thatched cottage is a must for any couple, be it getting away from the hustle and bustle or simply to just admire the beautiful cottage and it's spacious surroundings. It is truly ideal for writers, artists, painters and photographers. Although you are hidden away, you are close to Oughterard village which is only 2 miles away. Birch Hall is only down the road where you can relax and do some fishing. Horse-riding and bicycle-hire are available locally. A fine 18 hole golf course is just minutes away and a 20 minute drive will take you to Connemara's majestic mountains or to lively, historic Galway city. Roscahill which is only a mile away has the magical Brigit's garden, a nature and heritage trail. There is boat hire or corrib ferries can take you out to enjoy sailing between Oughterard and Cong with stop off and guided tours of 5 th Century historical ruins of Inchagoill Island . Aughnanure Castle is a nice walk away from the cottage. Kinnevey's pub is only a mile away and the Connemara Gateway Hotel with leisure centre is one and a half miles away. This adorable cottage is situated on one acre, a perfect retreat after a long journey.
